Looking for Love and Found It! What’s Missing?

SUPER GREAT SHOTRick and Lynn are newlyweds in their later years. Both musicians, Lynn is a classically trained soprano and jazz contralto and teaches elementary vocal music. Rick plays Double Bass in various Bluegrass bands in the area. Eclectic in their tastes, both enjoy the performing arts, taking part in as well as sitting back and watching great live theatre and indie and noir film.  Rick has been an avid hiker for over 40 years. Lynn has been a passionate dog lover for many years, having rescued and parented large and small canine cuties. (Lucy and Leo are their present fuzzy kids.)

Rick and Lynn are musicians, but won’t be blasting their tunes – they are considerate, respectful neighbors.   Lovers of nature, they appreciate native plants and green, green tree-lined streets.

Rick and Lynn are desiring to move from Oakland to San Leandro, to one of its scrumptious older neighborhoods with history, wooden details and welcoming quiet character.

Do you have or know of someone who wants to sell their San Leandro home to this great couple?

Another happy couple…

ShaiAndKevin“My partner and I were looking for a house in early August of 2013. We had interviewed a couple of Realtors before interviewing and making the commitment to work with Greg and Anna May. We were referred to them by friends of ours who had worked with them before. One of the reasons we chose them was because they readily provided contact information for their past clients and we liked what they had to say about Anna & Greg’s work. We had done some house hunting on our own and had an idea of what we wanted in our next house. My partner does a lot of trips abroad for business and during our search for a home, he had to go away on one of those trips. I was looking at the houses with Anna and Greg and taking videos and sending them to him through email. These guys (Anna & Greg) know what they’re doing; they know exactly what we were looking for. While my partner was away, he had a heart attack. Since he was out of the country, but near his family, he instructed me to keep going with with the search. Anna and Greg were the most supportive people I knew during that time.

“They stayed in touch with him and me through email and teleconferencing calls. After deciding on a house remotely, Anna and Greg (with the assistance of one of their associates, Simon), drew up the necessary paperwork for the transactions that were needed and we were in escrow before my partner could medically be allowed to fly back home. Initially, Anna & Greg were proactive in securing a ratified back-up contract on a house that already had a buyer. They went as far as setting up an appointment with the listing agent and the sellers for a personal meeting to entice them to see us favorably as buyers. Although that house didn’t work out, the day my partner came back we had already closed escrow on another house and had keys in hand. And to top it all off, Anna & Greg made a banner up with our pictures welcoming us to our new home after knowing what he went through. They provided food for our housewarming party too. We would definitely rely on Anna and Greg when it comes to our future real estate ventures.”

Rolling Stones! Al & Andy are at it again…!

AlAndAndy

“We know Anna May and Greg Jones and their brokerage, Realty World Neighbors, because of their involvement in the Prospect Hill Neighborhood Association, their efforts to help maintain the neighborhood’s open space and other projects.

“Our decision to appoint Anna and Greg as co-listing agents (and later as our buyers’ agents) arose because they work on a number of issues and we were impressed by their efforts and contributions. We have found that people who work well when they volunteer also do well professionally.

“Frequent communications kept us informed of progress over the transactions for which we hired Anna & Greg to assist in the Historic Prospect Hill neighborhood. We appreciated Anna & Greg’s attention and time to email, call or text as the sales progressed.

“As sellers, we appreciated the well-coordinated marketing plan for our unique home in the historic Prospect Hill neighborhood. They knew how to price it for the prevailing market conditions, how to promote it to the right groups and took care of all the paper work expeditiously. There were no errors, no last-minute deliveries or problems from the time we listed until the sale closed. We subsequently hired Anna & Greg to list and sell another home for us and we experienced the same high level of competency in that transaction too.

“We were extremely impressed by their knowledge of the market, pricing and their ability to get the word out about our home through their networks, professional organizations and advertising. They were very professional, competent and knowledgeable about real estate in the area.

“We’re delighted to now be in a larger Prospect Hill home and were able to purchase this home in part due to the negotiation skills of Anna and Greg. They negotiated on our behalf for the sellers to pay for repairs before we moved in. We would definitely hire Anna May and Greg Jones again and recommend them to others.”

Exclusive Buyer Clients Seek a Home & Greek Restaurants!

Exclusive Buyer Clients seek to buy their first home in Hayward, San Lorenzo, San Leandro or Castro Valley up to $550,000!

“We are a family of three (our daughter is five years old). We both have a background in electrical engineering. Engineering was always a big part of our lives and after some further developments we ended up in California, home of Silicon Valley. We were both born and raised in Greece. Although it pained us to leave our country, we knew that the opportunities we had in California were ones we couldn’t dismiss. We love our life here and our desire is to raise our daughter in this diverse multi-culture place.

“Our true passion is to build robots and gadgets that will make our life much easier – and more fun! We are also very excited to be part of an amazing non-profit organization that fights against climate change. As we are really concerned about global warming, it’s a great honor to use our skills and technology to restore the Earth’s natural heat shield in the Arctic, rebuild polar habitat, and help stabilize global climate.

“In our free time we enjoy to travel, volunteer, swim, hike, try new things and most important spent time with friends and family creating lifelong memories!”

Real Estate: The Migration of a People

Real Estate The Migration of a People April 2017Below is a response with a question that came in response to our real estate e-newsletter we sent out yesterday:

“Here’s my observation. The main problem of young married first time buyer professionals here in the Bay Area is that even if their combined income qualify them for a bank loan, they do not have enough money saved to pay for the 20% down payment. Aside from borrowing money from their parents, is there a better way of solving this crisis?” Joseph Palafox, Architect

The millennial demographic consists of many home buyers who make quite a bit of money. If they focus on a goal of home ownership, they are able to save enough money for a down payment, whether it be 20% or even less using some of the minimum of 3% or 3.5% down payment scenarios for which they may qualify.

The issue with any buyer is the standard of living they expect or desire in a home. If the expectation is for a detached home of 2000 sq ft., well, that may be a stretch for some buyers who can afford a smaller home that could use some updating, for example.

Actually, I have a different perspective on affordability here in the Bay Area. We all have choices about where, how and what we live in. If we adjust our expectations in order to live how we want, then there is no “crisis”.

Travel the world a bit more, folks. You’ll see that a lot of the world lives in a lot less than we do here in the United States and they are perfectly happy with their lives and thankful for where they live…

I’m just sayin’!
